Have had a mixed month. Was ill with a bug after the English champs so that made me feel pretty weak. Then some races in some really brutal conditions. Starting with high bib numbers meant that finishing let alone getting a result was out of the question! Then some training back in Lofer...then off to Switzerland for some races..all of which were cancelled due to poor conditions! Anyway today in SL, managed best recovery ever..had both tips in the air and managed to do a 90 degree turn in mid air and still make the next gate. The second run was just about riding the ruts. Half a metre of powder and blizzard all day didnt make for the best race, but at least I managed a finish.
Back in Lofer now. Won the Super G at the English Championships as well as the GS, and was fastest Brit in both championships. AND have now been selected by Snowsport GB to represent GB at the World Junior Championships...so a pretty good week!

Good news!!! English Champs this week in Bormio, Italy and I've just won the GS title! Was first after the first run..so a bit of pressure there! but managed to get a result on the 2nd run too. Really chuffed as also won it last year.
Yesterday was the Slalom, I was wanting to win that too but straddled on the second run...was going very fast..and next thing..I was out. Was gutted.
So tomorrow is the Super G.
Then after these champs we have another 5 days of racing.
Back in Lofer for 2 days training and then 9 races in a row. Were meant to have a SG yesterday in Italy but too much snow so cancelled.
Wien went OK. I scored 51 points SL on the first day, even with a passive first run. The second run was much better. The next day...had a great first run and was fastest Brit but then came out in the second run. But its all going in the right direction. making points much faster than last year so just need to have a race where it all comes together!
Happy New Year to everyone. We've been having some great training based at Lofer. Did my first ski jump the other day! 20m! Had some time trials in Super G and was 0.5 sec off Dougie so really pleased with that.
Am racing now in Wien today and tomorrow. Fisrt run today wasnt brilliant...too passive but second run was .5 sec off the winner....so pretty pleased with that.
